Obituary of Frank Tranner

Frank Tranner, of Trumbull, the loving husband and best friend of Patricia Eason Tranner, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 7, 2005 at Bridgeport Hospital. A resident of Trumbull for over 30 years, he was the owner of Tranner Technologies. Before starting his consulting business, Mr. Tranner worked in Research and Development for the cosmetic, toiletry and pharmaceutical industries including working for Chesebrough-Ponds, Inc. as the director of Applied Technology. His professional affiliations include the American Chemical Society, the American Institute of Chemists and the American Pharmaceutical Chemists. He holds many U. S. Patents and has written several publications. Mr. Tranner is listed in the Whos Who in Pharmacy in the East and the American Men of Science and had a B. S. in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and completed his graduate work at Columbia University. He was a licensed pharmacist in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Mr. Tranner enjoyed mystery novels, bowling, golfing and inventing, but most of all, playing with his grandchildren and his dog.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by his four children, Todd Tranner and his wife, Julia of Woodland Hills, California, Christopher Tranner and his wife, Patricia of Shelton, Melissa Greene and her husband, Michael of Milford and Susan Tranner of Fairfield, his sister, Celeste Gherardi of Wellesley, MA, his grandchildren, Dashiell and Isabelle Tranner, Erin Greene and Hayley Tranner, who all knew him as Grand-Papa, and his beloved chocolate lab, Willow, as well as a niece and several nephews. 

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Road, Trumbull on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Catherine of Siena Family Center Building Fund, 188 Shelton Rd., Trumbull, CT 06611.
