Obituary of Muriel Thoener

Stratford Resident Muriel Bywater Thoener, age 93, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late George E. Thoener, died peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Gardner Heights, Shelton. Born on November 26, 1918 in London, England she was a daughter of the late William and Evelyn Balmer Bywater. During World War II, Muriel was a courier for the British Military. She would carry the military air raid plans from place to place including 10 Downing Street. She came to the U.S. to marry her husband George in 1947 settling in Queens, NY. She was a long time member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Yonkers, NY, where she served on the Alter Guild. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will truly be missed. Survivors include two loving children, David W. Thoener and his wife Tamera of Nashville, TN and Carol Randall and her husband Edward of Hooksett, NH; two cherished grandchildren, Scott D. Harris and Austin A. Thoener, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx New York.
