Obituary of Bella Marie Teixeira

Bella Marie Jardin Teixeira, age 84, of Bridgeport, loving wife of Edward A. Teixeira, died peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2011. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY on March 9, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Isabel Teixeira Jardin. Mrs. Teixeira was a retired sales associate for the former Nydens Department Store. In her younger years, Bella would take great enjoyment in playing pinochle with her sisters and friends. The girls would take their weekly dues and spend a day in New York City treating themselves to a Broadway play and always had dinner at a four star restaurant. But more than anything she was devoted to the love and care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her loving husband Edward, of 65 years, survivors include three children, David Teixeira and his wife Maureen of Bangor, Maine, Dennis Teixeira and his wife Linda of Avon and Sandra Ribeiro and her husband Albert of Port Tobacco, Maryland, nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michelle, David, Amy, Paul, Eric, Nadine, Steven and Antonio, four great grandchildren, Jordan, Katlyn, Cora and Easton; three brothers, Anthony Jardin and his wife Mary of Norwich, John Jardin of Bridgeport and Daniel Jardin and his wife Joann of New Hampshire, a sister Polly Duval of Texas, brothers-in-law, Joe Teixeira of Haywood, CA and John Jardin of Bridgeport as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary, Adeline and Matilda. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 pm.
