Obituary of Margaret Tassinary

Resident of Stratford Margaret Evelyn Tassinary, age 105, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at home peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in Chaseville, FL on July 26, 1907 and was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Quintin Tassinary. She was also predeceased by her father Charles and mother Grace Zerrelly and all her siblings, sisters, Mary Tarinelli, Elsie Monaco, Emma Haworth, and Olympia Haray and brother Peter Zerrelly. She lived in Florida until the age of 4 and then moved to Stratford, CT. Margaret was active in the Subalpino Ladies Auxiliary, The Italian Community Ladies Guild, Beardsley Park AARP, St. Charles Friendship Club and the St. Peter Rosary Society which she was the president for many years. She is survived by two daughters Joan Wasilewski and husband Sigmund of Stratford and Claire Wickham of Boyton Beach FL, six grandsons, Larry Wasilewski & wife Deborah of West Palm Beach, FL, Alan Wasilewski and wife Stephney of Ansonia, John Wasilewski and his partner Nic Aldanor of New York, Theodore Wickham and his wife Sharon of Lake Worth, FL, Thomas Wickham and his wife Sherri of Sebastian FL and Ronald Wickham and his wife Jessica of Clinton, three granddaughters, Lois Bologna and her husband Anthony of Shelton, Deborah Rucinski and her husband Robert of Del Ray, FL, and Kathy Hatakeyama and her husband Kyle of Lake Worth, FL. She also had nine great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She and Quintin owned Tassinarys Variety Store for 18 yrs. Margaret was a kind and gentle soul; she was known for being humble with a generous heart. Her passions included knitting, crocheting, tatting and playing the organ. Her family would like to acknowledge the support and comfort given by the nurses and doctors at Bridgeport Hospital and all of the hospice caregivers. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 9 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
