Obituary of Philomena Tamburrino

Derby Resident Philomena Tamburrino, age 100, of Derby, beloved wife of the late Cesare Charlie Tamburrino, died on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. Born in Bridgeport on August 25, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances DiPaolo DiBacco. Before her retirement she was employed at Hull Dye and Printworks of Derby and Howie Manufacturing of Bridgeport. Philomena was a member of the St. Jude Ladies Guild and the Italian American Womens Auxiliary and an avid bingo player. Survivors include her six children, Rudolph Tamburrino and his wife Darlene of East Haven, Frances Dorso of Derby, Concetta Mauri and her husband Frank of Woodstock Valley, Cesare Tamburrino, Jr. and his wife Hope of West Haven, Mary Ann Bossio of Stratford, Jo-Marie Tamburrino of Derby; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carmen and Daniel DiBacco; a sister, Mary Alfonso; a grandson, Rudolph (Butch) Tamburrino, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Tamburrino; and two sons- in- law, Charles Dorso and Carmine Bossio Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mount St. Peters Cemetery, Derby. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
