Obituary of Vincent G. Szymanski

Vincent G. Szymanski, age 83, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2005 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Vincent, who was known to his friends and family as Tweet was the son of the late Stanley and Carry Wozna Szymanski. Born in Bridgeport on December 16, 1921, Vincent served his country during World War II in Germany. As an engineer, he attained the rank of Corporal in the U. S. Army and served from 1945 to 1947. After his military service, Vincent was employed at Allison Abrasive and after 37 years of dedicated work, he retired. In his younger years, he played football for the Sylvans and later in life became an avid golfer.

Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Passaro Szymanski, his devoted daughter, Sandra Parauka and son-in-law, Lance Parauka, Sr., of Bridgeport, his brother, Walter Tubby Szymanski of Florida; his devoted brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony and Shirley Passaro, of Trumbull, two grandchildren, Lance Parauka, Jr. and Jason Parauka and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Vincent, being from a large family, was pre-deceased by his ten brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
