Obituary of Sophie Szoslawski

September 18, 2013 Sophie Szoslawski, of Trumbull, passed away at St. Vincents Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Szoslawski. Born in Dickson City, PA, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Alexandria Blusz Prokarym. She had been employed as a secretary for the Walton Watch Company for many years before her retirement. Sophie was a very active parishioner of St. Theresa Church, Trumbull and volunteered her services for the prayer line. She was also a longtime volunteer at Birthright and found great enjoyment traveling with her husband to Europe many times. Sophie is survived by special niece, Janet M. Covaleski of Milford, CT and several other nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her three brothers, Jack, Joseph and Frank Prokarym. The family wishes to thank her dear friend, Bernie Prendergast and her aide, Veretta for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
