Obituary of Ronald P. Gernat

Resident of Stratford Ronald Peter Gernat, age 64, of Paradise Green, Stratford, an assistant manager for Town Fair Tire, died on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeport on July 14, 1942, he was a son of Peter Paul and Mary Julianna Komornik Gernat. He graduated from Milford Academy and attended the Fairfield Preparatory School and Tarkio Junior College. Mr. Gernat enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nascar and attending Little League Baseball Games, but his heart was in New Hampshire. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Baker Gernat, two daughters, Michelle Gernat Mitchals and Susan Lynn Mitchals and their husbands, who were Rons dear friends, Robert Walter Mitchals and Frank James Mitchals, all of Willard, Missouri, stepchildren, Jeffrey R. DeWitt of Macon, GA, Janice C. Scully of Stratford and Kathleen D. Powers of Locus Grove, GA, ten grandchildren, Victoria, Robert, Brooke and Gregory Mitchals, Michelle DeWitt, Damian and Derika Powers, Andrew Scully and Ahren and Jenna Powers, two sisters, Dorothy Christine Gernat Tracey and her husband, Dr. James Patrick Tracey of Wilton and Mary Ann Potts & her husband, David Lawson Potts of Trumbull, a brother, Paul Henry Gernat and his wife, Kathleen Gernat of Trumbull, three sisters-in-law, Evelyn M. Clough and her husband, Ronald Clough of Stratford, Patricia A. Hovan and her husband, Gerald Hovan of Virginia and Ingrid Chrismond and her husband James Chrismond of West Haven as well as several very special cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
