Obituary of Marie L. Federiconi

Resident of Bridgeport Marie L. Federiconi, age 100, clear minded and alert to the last day, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was the beloved widow of Louis Marino Federiconi, and daughter of the late Agostino and Guerina Santini Sanchioni of Bridgeport. She was born in Derby, Connecticut on December 13, 1905. She was also predeceased by her beloved brother, Frank M. Sanchione, and his wife, Anna; her beloved niece, Annette Sanchione Cooney and grandniece, Marie Sanchione. Survivors include her beloved nephew, Frank A. Sanchione and his wife, Dolores; her beloved niece Francene Sanchione and her fiance, Arthur Zetomer; loving grandnieces Marifrances Cooney, Annie Cooney Denzel and her husband, Tim, and Annette Sanchione Cunliffe and her husband, Richard. She is also survived by great niece, Kathy Cooney and great nephews, Albert Carey, Christopher LaQuay, Kevin LaQuay and Vincent Denzel. Marie was a gracious lady, who lived life according to her beliefs of love, kindness and forgiveness. She reaffirmed her beliefs everyday saying she would hurt herself rather than hurt another. She was like a second mother to the family, and will be greatly missed. She served as a Red Cross nurse at St. Vincents Hospital and Blood Bank during World War II, and with her husband, owned and operated The Palace Grill Restaurant in Bridgeport during the 1950s. She will also be remembered for her wonderful cooking and special recipes, which will live on through her family. She was also a past vice president and secretary of the North Italian Ladies Aide Association. The family recognizes and extends their thanks to the staff at the Jewish Home for the Elderly, where Marie made her home for the past year, the Therapeutic Recreation Department, and to her loving caregiver, Blanca Silva. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 27, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
