Obituary of Mary E. Swetz

Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Mary E. Palacino Swetz, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Stephen M. Swetz, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 22, 2013 at Maefair Health Care with her family by her side. Born on December 31, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Julia Petrizzi Palacino. Mary was a sales associate for many years, having worked for the former, Korvettes, McCory, Crown Corsette and Manny Maxwell & Moore. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed cooking for her family. But above all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took great pride in the love and care of her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her beloved husband of 69 years, Stephen, survivors include two daughters, Linda Matera and her husband Patrick Jr., of Shelton and Carol Wengertsman and her husband John of Manchester, a son, Stephen J. Swetz and his wife Laura of Islip, NY, a sister, Anne Mucherino of Trumbull, 11 grandchildren, Dawn, Patrick III, David, Nancy, Peter, Matthew, Tim, Amy, Michael, Andy, Brian, two step grandchildren, Andrea and Lauren, seven great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Phyllis Montabana and Jennie Reilly. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday December 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrews Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
