Obituary of George J. Sutay

George J. Sutay, age 86, of Redding, beloved husband of the late Marilyn Myers Sutay, died on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Danbury Hospital. Born in Stratford on July 25, 1924, he was a son of the late John and Anna Zavacki Sutay and was a longtime resident of Redding. Mr. Sutay was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran serving in World War II as a gunner on a dive bomber. He was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and later received an accounting degree from the University of Bridgeport. He loved dancing, bowling and working in his yard planting flowers and shrubs.

Survivors include two brothers William Sutay, Sr. of Trumbull, Frank Sutay and his wife Dorothy of N.C., a sister, Eleanor Vargoshe of Shelton and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his longtime friend and dance partner Carolyn Doyle of Danbury.

In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a brother John Sutay. 

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
