Obituary of Vivian J. Sumyk

Resident of Bridgeport Vivian Mannino Sumyk, age 70, of Bridgeport, a retired employee of Shop Rite and Pathmark, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on August 30, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Erbella Politano Mannino. Vivian was a very loving and caring person; she was always there to lend a helping hand to all. She was dedicated to the love and care of her family. A very kind hearted person she was loved by all and enjoyed cooking and baking. She will always be known as the Social Queen and Fashion Queen at Cambridge Manor. She was truly the best and most wonderful mother. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Bohdan Sumyk and her daughter Laura Sumyk. Survivors include her cherished daughter, Lisa Porto and her husband Jeff of Stratford, two loving sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda LaRussa and her husband Clem of Stratford and Angela DeClement and her husband Gerald of Georgia and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and her feline companion, Juno. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the residents and caregivers at Cambridge Manor. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
