Obituary of Joseph W. Stupak

Member of the Weston Police Department Joseph Wayne Stupak, age 61, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday, April 27, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends after fighting a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). He was the beloved husband of Ann Cosco Stupak of thirty five years and father of Jennifer M Stupak of Shelton. Joseph was born in Bridgeport on July 29, 1947 and was a resident in Shelton for thirty three years. Joe was a graduate of Central High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict and was a member with the Weston Police Department for thirty years. Joe was active with the Shelton High School marching band, his daughters Shelton recreational softball team and a member of the Connecticut Alumni Association. He was a long time parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He was an avid model train and computer enthusiast. Joe was a loving husband, father and caring friend with a heart of gold. His sense of humor always provided a smile and a laugh to those who knew him. He is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Jennifer and boyfriend Abel Gonzalez, sister-in-law Teresa J. Cosco, father-in-law Joseph Cosco and several cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Fay Stupak and daughter Melissa Ann Stupak. The family wishes to thank the unconditional support and care of Brook Cadwell and Retrinda Thomas as well as the Masonicare Hospice staff. The family also wishes to thank the Weston Police Benevolent Association for their long time support. The world has lost someone who made it a better place by who he was, the life he lived and whose lives he touched. He will be sadly missed by all who were lucky to have met him, knew him and loved him. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
