Obituary of Rose M. Stiner
Rose M. (Wasylishyn) Stiner, 89, of Monroe, CT, wife of the late John Stiner, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 9, 2011 at St. Vincents Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. Mrs. Stiner was born June 19, 1921 in Rochester, NY and resided there until retiring with her late husband to Florida in 1987. In 2002, she moved to Monroe, where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine & Donald Marvin. She was a member of St. Jude Church in Monroe.
Rose worked for Eastman Kodak Company during World War II and in her later years was employed by Xerox Corporation. She was a member of the Ukrainian Club in Rochester and enjoyed dancing. In more recent years, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and baking during holidays. As a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she treasured spending time with all her family.
Mrs. Stiner is survived by two daughters, Elaine K. Marvin (husband Donald J.) of Monroe and Charlene G. Gillette of Oxford, MA; four grandchildren, Laurie A. Marvin Conley (husband Bryan) of Monroe, David J. Marvin (wife Rachel) of Odenton, MD, Jeffrey D. Gillette (wife Angela) of Webster, MA, Adam R. Gillette of Oxford, MA; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn R. & Jackson T. Conley, Kira J. & Benjamin A. Gillette; a sister, Pauline Ackley of Chula Vista, CA, a sister-in-law, Agnes Zipeto (husband Carmen) of Spencerport, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Michael & Joseph Wasylishyn, two sisters, Mary Shurgot and Anne Shepherd and son-in-law, Richard F. Gillette. Funeral Information
Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 2-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at St. Vincent DePaul Church Cemetery in Churchville, NY.
