Obituary of Marietta Steggles

Resident of Bridgeport Marietta Farrace Steggles, age 104, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, February 5, 2012 in St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on December 26, 1907, she was a daughter of the late Florindo and Viola Luparello Farrace. Marietta enjoyed music, dancing and played the piano, banjo and the mandolin. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Steggles Bicki of Bridgeport, special nieces, Nancy Cascella Frederick of Fairfield, Jacqueline Skultety and her husband Alex of Bridgeport and Maribeth Peddle and her husband Joseph of Fairfield, as well as several additional nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Fred and Joseph Farrace, a sister, Jean Bergers and her husband Dennis and her son-in-law, Stephen Bicki. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to all the nurses and staff on the 4th floor of the Northbridge Health Care Center. Funeral Information Friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning, February 8, 2012 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in the St. Dimitre Romanian Orthodox Church, 500 Sport Hill Rd., Easton with a service following at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull has been entrusted with arrangements.
