Obituary of Gregory J. Smith

Stratford Resident SMITH- Gregory J. Smith, age 55, of Stratford, an employee of MCP Metal Specialties, died on Monday, August 27, 2007 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on April 19, 1952, he was a son of Marie Stefano Herdt and the late J. D. Smith. A graduate of Bassick High School, he was a lover of music and collector of records and antiques. Greg was a Mets and Giants fanatic. He was always the joker, wanting to make everyone around him laugh. He loved spending time with his three girls whom he loved very much. In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughters, Alexis, Alicia and Elizabeth, a brother, Terrance Smith and his wife Lynn, cousins, Patricia and John Rayner and Lesley and Evelyn Kovacs, his companion Dolly Lammana, his former wife, Cathryn Kleitz Smith and former mother-in-law, Frances Jean Kleitz. Funeral Information Friends can meet directly at 10 AM on Friday, August 31, 2007 in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
