Obituary of Joseph A. Sica
Resident of Trumbull
Joseph A. Sica, age 76, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Caroline Genovese Sica, died on Monday, January 2, 2012 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New York City on November 2, 1935, he was a son of the late Jiosue and Antoinette DiNubila Sica. Mr. Sica was U.S. Marine Corps veteran and received a Bachelors Degree in Business from St. Johns University. Along with his wife, he operated The Tennis Spot for over 23 years in Fairfield, as well as 10 years in Flushing Queens. In addition to his wife Caroline of 51 years, survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Mate and her husband Gerry of Trumbull and Nina Sica-Collins and her husband Rick of Derby, a sister, Carol Ann Krokondelas of Bayside Queens and three cherished grandchildren, Jacqueline, Olivia and Christopher. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
