Obituary of Virginia A. Scinto

Virginia DeLuca Scinto, age 97, of Huntington, devoted mother and grandmother, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in Bishop Wicke Health Center. Born in Bridgeport on March 11, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Michelina Nardella DeLuca. She was pre-deceased by her husband Daniel J. Scinto Sr., a brother Louis DeLuca and three sisters Phyllis Caiola, Josephine Morelli and Anna Maietto. Survivors include two sons, Daniel J. Scinto Jr. and his wife Linda of Huntington and Peter A. Scinto and his wife Maryann of Cheshire, a sister Matilda Riscile of Seymour, brother-in-law Samuel Caiola of Bridgeport, five grandchildren, Daniel Scinto III of Fairfield, Mark Scinto of Huntington, Alicia and Bryan Scinto of Cheshire and Michael Scinto of Huntington, three great grandchildren, Tyler, Zackery and Soleil, a devoted niece Marcia Dostilio as well as several additional nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bishop Wicke for their devoted care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
