Obituary of Cecelia Schinella

Former Resident of Easton Cecelia DiNardo Schinella, age 93, widow of Stephen Schinella, formerly of Easton, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Fairfield Jewish Home for the Elderly. Born in Easton on June 1, 1913, Mrs. Schinella was the eldest of 12 children of Nancy Papale and Salvatore DiNardo. Ceil was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Ceil worked in fashion merchandising at the D.M. Read Company for 15 years. She loved fashion and was very skilled in her favorite hobby, sewing. She also loved cooking for her family and friends. Ceil was an avid dancer, who later in life joined a number of area ballroom dance groups. Survivors include her children Alfred Lenoci and his wife, Carol of Easton, Nanci Antonini and her husband, Augie, Michael Schinella and his wife, Jody, all of Fairfield and Donna Berger and her husband John of Greenwich; nine grandchildren, Alfred Jr. & Paul Lenoci, Kathy Garamy, Nancy Piccirillo, James Burns, Michael Jr. & Thomas Schinella, Christian and Meredith Berger; nine great grandchildren, Alfred III, Carolyn and Richard Lenoci, Matt and Chris Garamy, Alyssa and Mark Piccirillo and Tyler and Austin Burns. She is also survived by two brothers, Frank and Robert DiNardo of Florida and three sisters, Madeline Willinger and Betty Purcell of Fairfield and Dorothy Aldor of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schinella was pre-deceased by her first husband, Ralph (Ray) Lenoci; four brothers, Peter, Pat, Ralph and Sal DiNardo, two sisters, Marion Gianatasio and Carrie Willinger and three grandchildren, Dawn, Stephen and Michael Michaud. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Paula Offley, who so lovingly cared for mom for the last seven years, and the entire staff of the Jewish Home for the Elderly for their dedication and compassion. Funeral Information A private family funeral service took place at the convenience of the family. Interment was in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
