Obituary of Santo Savo
Santo Savo, age 94, of Trumbull, loving husband of the late Carmela (Nobili) Savo died on Monday, September 13, 2004 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy on November 15, 1909, he was the oldest of eight children of the late Luigi and Angela (Cerquozzi) Savo. Mr. Savo served in the Calvary Division of the Italian Army. A Trumbull resident since 1974, he also resided in Bridgeport and Jamaica, Long Island. He was a retired construction worker and general labor foreman for E & F Construction Co., Fusco Construction Co., Blakeslee Construction Co and EBASCO Engineering Co. He was a 40 year member of the LIUNA Laborers Union Local #665 in which he served as a delegate of the District Council. Mr. Savo was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved being with his family. He also loved playing cards, gardening, his friends and his dogs.
Survivors include two loving children, Raymond L. Savo and his wife, Marcheta of Somers and Angela M. Ferrante and her husband, Jack of Trumbull, five cherished grandchildren, Louis Savo and his wife, Therese of North Carolina, Jennifer Vincenzo of Suffield, Lisa Frasco and her husband, Anthony of Berlin, Jacqueline Dunn and her husband, Peter of West Hartford and Vincent Ferrante and his wife, Brenda of Shelton, five great grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Raymond, Angela and Anthony, a brother, Angelo Savo of Derby, a sister, Elvira DAversa of Italy, two sisters-in-law, Felicia and Rose Savo, and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Teresa Scaramella and Marietta Fortini, three brothers, Chester, Pasqualino and Enrico Savo and two sisters-in-law, Mary and Maria Savo.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-9 p.m.
