Obituary of Cipriano Santos

Resident of Bridgeport Cipriano Alves Santos, age 81, of Bridgeport, an employee of Handy and Harman with over 25 years of service, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lisbon, Portugal on April 28, 1925, he was a son of the late Amadeu and Carolina Alves Santos. He was a lifetime member of Clube DesPortivo da Pena of Portugal where he was an avid ping pong player who competed in many tournaments and won many championships. He was also a member of the Vasco de Gama Club of Bridgeport and in his younger years was a goal keeper for Sporting. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Maria Albuquerque Pinto Santos, his devoted children, Lee Santos and his wife, Mindy of Derby and Louisa Albuquerque of Ansonia, a sister, Regina Machado and her husband, Ilidio of Portugal, five loving grandchildren, Steven Santos and his wife, Rachel, Diane Guerra and her husband, Edward, J. J. Freer, Ryan Freer and Kyle Albuquerque, a cherished great grandson, Alexander Nicholas as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Joaquim Anjos and a sister, Maria Luisa dos Santos. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
