Obituary of Joseph E. Boudreau

Joseph E. (Babe) Boudreau, age 79, of Waterbury and formerly of Trumbull, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2009 with his family by his side after a long illness. He was born in Rumford, ME on April 8,1929 to Alphonse and Josephine Bernard Boudreau.

Joe attended Rumford schools and served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged in 1953 and relocated to the Bridgeport area. He attended Bullard Havens Technical School in Bridgeport, graduating from the Engineering and Mechanical Design Program.

Joe met and married Arline Chapman in 1957 and they settled in Trumbull, CT where they lived for 45 years and raised their three children, Karen, James and Thomas. He worked for Pitney Bowes in Stamford, CT, retiring after 24 years as a Senior Engineer. Joe loved golf and vacationed frequently with his wife in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was talented in many ways. He built his own house in Trumbull in 1961. After his retirement he owned his own architectural and machine business. His family was the most important thing in his life. He spent many hours on the Little League fields in Trumbull with his sons and was involved in the Y Indian Guides with them.

He was predeceased by his parents, his son, James H. Boudreau and his brother, Joseph C. Boudreau.

In addition to Arline, his wife of 51 years, he is survived by his daughter, Karen Crane and her husband Robert of Trumbull, his son, Thomas Boudreau and his wife, Nancy of Cheshire, his two grandsons who he loved more than anything, Ryan and Dan Crane. He also leaves two brothers, Al of Milford and Ernest of Roxbury, ME, two sisters, Beatrice Clark of Largo, FL and Ann McClusky and her husband Peter of Canton, ME, his two sisters in law, Patricia Hart and her husband Robert of Seabring, FL and Janet Tesla of Greensboro,NC and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd, Trumbull on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday from 4 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
