Obituary of Delphina Ruggiero

Delphina Portanova Ruggiero, age 88, wife of the late Anthony Ruggiero died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center. Born in Bridgeport on May 30, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Delfina Capozziello Portanova and the step-daughter of Julia Portanova. She was a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother and sister and was a Bridgeport resident most of her life. Mrs. Ruggiero is survived by her devoted children, Patricia Ruggiero of Trumbull and John Ruggiero and his wife, Carol of Naugatuck, a sister, Lucy Salito of Bridgeport, seven grandchildren, Anthony, Christina, John and his fiance, Marlo, Michael, Lisa, Angela and Angelo, two great grandchildren, Elliott and Kiya and nephews, Anthony Portanova and his wife, Diane of Woodbury and Daniel Portanova and his wife, Agnetta of Trumbull. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Lucy Portanova. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the 2nd floor of Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center for the excellent care given in their time of need. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 16, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7:30 p.m.
