Obituary of Michael Ruggerio

Longtime Bridgeport Resident Michael Ruggerio, age 95, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Bongo Ruggerio. Born in Bridgeport on August 23, 1917, he was a son of the late Anthony and Domenica Zullo Ruggerio. Before his retirement, Mr. Ruggerio was employed at Remington Arms in the shot tower with many years of dedicated service. Michael loved to bowl and golf and achieved 4 holes-in-one after the age of 65. He was also an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Yankees. Survivors include his loving daughters, Ellie Gaetano and Joann Pisacreta both of Prospect, sister, Melinda Trovarelli of Stratford, grandchildren, Frank Gaetano Jr., Donna Ciaramella and her husband Joseph, Michael Pisacreta and his wife Lynda, Jeffrey Pisacreta and his wife Julia, Mary Jo Conetta and her husband David, great grandchildren, Frank Gaetano III, Amanda Gaetano, Nicole and Dominic Ciaramella, Gabrielle, Michael, Sabastian and Arden Pisacreta, Miranda, Jack and Sarah Conetta. He was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph Pisacreta, brothers, Patsy, Samuel, Angelo and Anthony Ruggerio, sisters, Theresa Swetcky, Philomena Follo and Antoinette Ruggerio and sons-in-law, Frank Gaetano and Michael Pisacreta. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Stratford.
