Obituary of Rosemary A. Rudis

Resident of Fairfield Rosemary A. Etrio Rudis, age 68, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Gary Rudis, died peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2011 in St. Vincents Medical Center after a brave and courageous three year battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on May 20, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Carmela Rotondo Etrio and was a longtime resident of Fairfield. Mrs. Rudis was an elementary school teacher for the Town of Shelton for over 42 years at Long Hill School. She was devoted to her career and loved each of her students. Mrs. Rudis was a lector and very active parishioner of St. Margarets Shrine of Bridgeport and enjoyed traveling and flowers. In addition to her devoted husband Gary of 43 years, survivors include two brothers, John Etrio and his wife Josephine of Fairfield and Anthony Etrio Sr. of Bridgeport, nieces and nephew, Debra Kopczynski, Teresa Garnett and Jon Etrio, great nieces and nephews, Belinda Wutke, Bianca Garnett, Holly Garnett, Anthony Kopczynski, Jon Etrio, Jr. and Nicole Etrio. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Patricia Etrio and a nephew Anthony Etrio, Jr. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
