Obituary of Henry Romanovsky

Retired Sikorsky Employee Henry Romanovsky, age 79, of Trumbull, a retired Sikorsky employee, died on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Haven on February 7, 1928, he was a son of the late Harry and Annie Kapnooska Romanovsky. Mr. Romanovsky was in the Quality Assurance Department at Sikorsky for over 35 years before his retirement and was a duckpin bowler in the Sikorsky league. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as an M.P at West Point. He was a longtime member of the Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church where he served on the church council. He played Santa Claus at the church and Sikorsky Christmas parties for many years. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years Valentina Shostak Romanovsky, a daughter; Catherine Vargas and her husband David of Rocky Hill, two sons; Henry John Romanovsky and his wife Janis of Orange, Gregory Romanovsky and his wife Robin Marie of Derby, a sister; Elizabeth Schaffeld of North Haven, five grandchildren; Natasha and Nicholas Vargas, Alexander J., Peter W. and Paul Michael Romanovsky and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers; Peter and John Romanovsky and a sister Anna Radin. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport for a Service. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
