Obituary of Harry G. Ricca

Fairfield Resident Harry G. Ricca, age 84, entered into rest Saturday, May 23, 2009 at St. Vincents Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Grace DOstilio Ricca. Mr. Ricca was born on March 21, 1925, son of the late Angelina and Thomas Ricca and was a Fairfield resident for 62 years. Mr. Ricca was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and Butler Business School. He worked for Avco Lycoming for 22 years in the Accounting and Sales Manager capacity. He then worked for Metropolitan Life/Barnum Financial where he achieved Presidents Conference every year until his formal retirement in 1988. Mr. Ricca was a man of tireless energy. He combined intellectual and physical talents in a way that few men could. He had a voracious appetite for reading and a passion for history. He loved to travel, and enjoyed visiting many destinations with his wife where they also made lifetime friendships. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His favorite times were spent with his family at Long Beach Island and taking Fall excursions to Vermont. Mr. Ricca is the loving father of devoted children Laura Huddy and her husband William of Fairfield and Mark Ricca and wife Linda of Wilton. He is the loving grandfather of Alana and Amanda Ricca. He is also survived by his brother Carmen Ricca of Fairfield, two sisters Anna Mae Gallo of Trumbull and Connie Deaso of Bridgeport, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his best friend Anthony Tavella the Bloke. Funeral Information Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Wednesday, May 27th from 4-8 P.M.
