Obituary of William Reed

Purple Heart Recepient William Reed , age 72, of Bridgeport, a retired supervisor for Sikorsky Aircraft, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Mount Vernon, New York on October 9, 1931, he was a son of the late William I. and Mary Moran Reed. A U. S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Reed was the proud recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Sikorsky Supervisor Club and the Quarter Century Club. Survivors include his wife, Sandra M. Steinbrick Reed, a son, William Reed, Jr. of Morris, two daughters, Debra Koch of Seymour and Sharon Saunders of Bridgeport, a brother, Steven Reed of Sebastian, Florida, two sisters, Mary Rizzo of Hartford and Patricia Dihmes of Bridgeport, as well as five grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Joseph Reed. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
