Obituary of Lucia Bordonaro

Lucia Uccello Bordonaro, age 96, of Shelton passed away peacefully on September 26, 2013 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Bordonaro. Born in Canicattini Bagni, Sicily, Italy on July 22, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Giuseppina Gionfriddo Uccello and was a resident of Stratford for over 50 years before moving to Shelton four years ago. Before her retirement, Lucia had worked as a seamstress for the Venus Lingerie and Paul Adams Companies, both formerly of Bridgeport, for over 30 years and also helped her husband Paul at his shoe repair shop in Fairfield. Neighborhood children would come over when they smelled her pizza cooking and she always had plenty to share. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and especially her furry best friend Murphy. The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Kochan and staff for the many years of special care to Lucia and also to Paulette and Pam for their care and friendship to her in her final days. She is survived by her loving son, Mike Bordonaro and daughter-in-law, Gloria of Shelton, a brother, Emanulle Uccello of Sicily as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, whom they shared 60 wonderful years together, her sister, Santina and brothers, Sebastian and Giuseppe all of Italy.
