Obituary of Daniel D. Recchia

U.S. Army Veteran Daniel Dominic Recchia Jr., age 84, of Bridgeport, died on Thursday, April 16, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on August 6, 1924, he was a son of the late Daniel D. and Jennie Bredice Recchia Sr. A U.S. Army Veteran of WW II he was stationed in the Pacific. Dan was an avid Mets Fan, enjoyed music, golf and loved dancing, especially with his wife Muriel. He was a warm, generous and friendly person who loved to laugh and joke. A former parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport, he was very active on many committees and boards. He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Bobby and Michael Recchia. Survivors include his devoted wife of 54 years, Muriel Alice Ferland Recchia, his children, Michael Recchia and his wife Molly of Michigan, Barbara Recchia of California, Leslie Tracey and her husband Bob and Brian Longley and his wife Linda all of Milford, two brothers, Alfred Recchia and his wife Margaret of Milford and Ernest Recchia of Stratford, grandchildren, Justin Tracey, Karissa Tracey and her husband Adam, Alan Longley and his wife Teresa, Eric Longley and his wife Rouchelle, Emily and Mireille Recchia, Dylan Recchia and his wife Jennifer and Nile Recchia, great grandchildren, Stephen, Emma, Cy, John and Dylan Jr. and Riley, a sister in law, Lillian Mesarich as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford.
