Obituary of Bertha Ratzenberger Sewack

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Bertha Ratzenberger Sewack, age 95, of Ormond Beach, Florida and Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at St. Vincents Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born on February 11, 1916 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Casimir and Bronislawa Salomin Grochowski. Bertha was a retired employee of Remington Arms. She was an artist and enjoyed painting. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was a genuine, caring person who was full of laughter and always had a smile on her face that lifted the spirits of all who knew her. She was pre-deceased by husbands, Dezso Ratzenberger and Nicholas Sewack, a brother, Bill Groski and twin sister, Sophie Mitchell Lapinski. Survivors include three loving children, Martha Darcy and her husband Mark of Bridgeport, John Ratzenberger and his fiance, Julie Blichfeldt of Los Angeles, CA and Elizabeth Petrocelli Falanga and her husband Frank of Shelton, five cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Guay, Tara Petrocelli and James and Nina Ratzenberger, three great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
