Obituary of Vito Ranalli

Vito (Butch) Ranalli Jr., age 63, of Trumbull died peacefully on Saturday June 11, 2011 at St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on September 1, 1947, he was the son of Mary D'Alesio Ranalli of Bridgeport and the Late Vito Ranalli Sr. Vito became a member of the Kennedy Center residential community in 1996 when he moved to the Daniels Farm Group Home in Trumbull. The walls of his room are covered with photos of his family and friends, posters of events he attended and artwork he created. He was an avid music lover, played his keyboard, loved to sing to the oldies and was the first up on the dance floor. Vito was on a Saturday duckpin bowling league, after which he would go out with his friends for his beloved coffee and whatever shopping, dining or social events were happening. He spent his days at Sunset Shores in Stratford where he participated in recreational activities, then donned his uniform to do his job of daily maintenance. Vito had many friends due to his social nature, and would go out of his way to introduce himself and ask people to do the same. Butch was a loving and devoted son who cared deeply for his mother, sister and many nieces and nephews. His spirit will truly and deeply be missed.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann Ryan.

In addition to his beloved mother, Mary, survivors include a loving sister, Patricia Ranalli Wilson and her husband Jim of Shelton, cherished nephews and nieces, Jimmy Wilson, Lauren Carrillo and her husband Alfonso, Linda Criscuolo and her husband David, Mark Ryan and his wife Kara, Carla Zwaan and her husband Ard and Michael Ryan. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews as well as his dear friends at the Kennedy Center. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
