Obituary of Edward C. Puffen

Retired Bridgeport Police Officer Edward C. Puffen Sr., age 77, of Naugatuck, beloved husband of the late Theresa M. Gayda Puffen, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Waterbury Hospital. Born in Nanticoke, PA on May 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Veronica Puffen. He was a retired police officer for the City of Bridgeport with 27 years of dedicated service. He served with the National Guard and was a member of the Bridgeport Police Union. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be forever missed. Survivors include two sons, Edward Puffen Jr. of NH, Christopher Puffen of Waterbury, three daughters, Dawn Brown and her husband Fred of Beacon Falls, Joann Bonta and her husband Gary of Stratford and Shelley Puffen and her fiance Mario Nieves of Bridgeport, 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was pre-deceased by his maternal grandmother, Alice Puffen who helped to raise him, a daughter, Michelle Eaton and a grandson, Fred Brown Jr. Funeral Information Friends can greet the family on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Prayer Services will take place on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
