Obituary of Grace Elena Prowell

Grace Elena Visconti Prowell, age 92, died peacefully at the Carolton in Fairfield, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Born in Bridgeport, on June 30, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Clelia Sabini Visconti. A lifelong resident of Stratford, Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. A parishioner of St. James Church for over 60 years, Grace was an active volunteer of the parish. She was a talented organ player and loved crocheting, and will be remembered by many as the maker of the worlds best tomato sauce, and apple pie. Predeceased by her loving husband, Ralph (Budd) Prowell, Grace and Budd would have been married for 68 years this week. Grace is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Barbara Prowell of Delaware, her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Nicole and Ryan Hart, of Boston, granddaughter Jessica Deroy, of Massachusetts, granddaughter Jamie ONeill, of Delaware, grandson Jim DelRe, of North Carolina, brother-in-law, Mario Petruccelli, of Trumbull, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Visconti, and two sisters, Mary Papini, and Loretta (Lorie) Petruccelli, Graces best friend. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday October 25, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 9:00 a.m.in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
