Obituary of Richard L. Prokop

Longtime Stratford Resident Richard L. Prokop Sr., age 84, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Jeanne Diorio Prokop, died on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on February 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary Nemec Prokop and was a Stratford resident for over 50 years. Richard was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft with over 42 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing with his son, son in law and grandsons and was a proud grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his beloved daughter, Judy Barbero and her husband, Jay of Trumbull, three loving grandchildren, Jody and her husband Christian, Jay and Justin. He was predeceased by his son, Richard L. Prokop Jr. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Joseph for the dedicated care he provided during the last six years. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
