Obituary of Joseph Polozzolo

World War ll US Army Veteran Polozzolo- Joseph A. Polozzolo, Sr., age 87, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, died on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born Bridgeport on October 13, 1918, he was a son of the late John Joseph and Jennie Polozzolo. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Polozzolo was a construction worker and a member of the Local #665 Laborers Union for over 50 years. He was also a former scout leader, a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Theresas Council, the Trumbull AARP #958 seniors and the Chestnut Hill seniors. Joe was very proud to have served his country, and his love for this country and patriotism was admirable. He always enjoyed sharing in great detail his memories of the armed services. Survivors include his beloved wife of 23 years, Rose Turziano Polozzolo; a son, Joseph Polozzolo, Jr. and his wife Marcella of Bridgeport; a brother, Albert Polozzolo and his wife Lillian of Stratford; two sisters, Sadie Walker of Milford, Josie Papa of Spring Hill, FL; step children; Richard Turziano and his wife Vicki of Simi Valley, CA, Diana Turziano and Barbara Tzanavaris, both of West Palm Beach, FL, grandsons, Brian Polozzolo, Keith Polozzolo and his wife Amy, James Tzanavaris and Jonathan Turziano, two great grandchildren, Hazel Mae and Dominic James and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Evelyn Spitrino Polozzolo and a brother, John Polozzolo. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 11, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine Chapel, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery.
