Obituary of John F. Galatie

John F. Galatie, age 89, of Bridgeport, a retired salesman for Stevens Ford, Milford died on Friday, April 10, 2009 in Ashlar of Newtown. Born in Bridgeport on June 23, 1919, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Ruffo Galatie. Mr. Galatie formerly served as an alderman in the 134th district in Bridgeport. He was pre-deceased by his wife Josephine Auriemma Galatie, a brother Anthony Galatie and sisters, Antoinette Kotelsky and Theresa Capozzi. Survivors include his loving son, Dennis Galatie and daughter-in-law, Diane, of Monroe, two loving granddaughters, Nicole and Lauren, all of Monroe, two devoted brothers, Joseph and Richard Galatie, both of Stratford, a sister, Gloria Bennett and her husband Merton of Stratford, a brother-in-law, Walter Kotelsky of Bridgeport, a sister-in-law Anna Galatie of Milford and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Ashlar of Newtown for their loving and compassionate care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 12:00 noon in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday morning from 10:15 a.m. until the time of service.
