Obituary of Samuel N. Pizzuto

WWII US Army Veteran Samuel N. Pizzuto, age 88, of Shelton, a retired supervisor at Gaynor Electric of Stratford, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Stratford on January 10, 1919, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Mary Zeccola Pizzuto. Mr. Pizzuto was a WWII US Army Veteran who served with the Signal Corps under pressure of enemy fire and attack during the European Theatre of Operation, and received metals for his dedicated service. Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Annette DErcole Pizzuto, a son Salvatore Pizzuto Jr. and his partner, Marge Roper of Florida, a daughter Jean Jelenik and her husband Robert of Stratford, a brother Ralph Pizzuto of Sarasota, Florida, a sister Jennie Cretella of Bridgeport, and his beloved granddaughter Christina Jelenik, as well as three special nieces Nancy, Susan, and Laura and other devoted nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother William Pizzuto, and his sister Mary Marranzino. The family would like extend a special thanks to Dr. Amire, his staff and Patty from the Hospice Team. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
