Obituary of Frank Piraneo

Frank Piraneo, age 86, of Shelton, beloved husband of Josephine Marino Piraneo, died at his home on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Born in New York City on March 31, 1925, he was a son of the late Filippo and Alfonza LoBrutto Piraneo. A licensed pharmacist, he was the owner and operator of Prospect Drug Co. of Brooklyn, NY for over 30 years and was the former president of the Italian Pharmaceutical Society in New York. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed living in St. Petersburg, FL as a snowbird for 15 years.

In addition to Josephine, his wife of 61 years, survivors include a son Frank Piraneo and his wife Marie of Trumbull and a daughter, Diana Cullen and her husband Bob of Stormville, NY, three grandchildren, Joseph and Michael Piraneo and Nicole Cullen, a brother, Peter Piraneo and his wife Josephine of Alexandria, VA. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Raymonds Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
