Obituary of Michelina Picone
Resident of Stratford
Domenica Michelina Rinoceronte Picone Mickey, age 73, of Stratford, the devoted wife of the late Alberto U. Picone, died peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2007 in St. Vincent Medical Center following a long illness. Michelina was the daughter of the late Saverio and Lucia Rinoceronte. She was born in Serino, Province of Avellino, Italy in 1933 and came to the United States as a young bride in 1956. She worked for many years as a seamstress at the Seaside Blouse Company, Bridgeport.. Her greatest love was caring for her family; especially her children and grandchildren. Michelina was a strong person who courageously battled many illnesses throughout her life, and even during her most difficult times she always rallied to beat the odds. Michelina was a selfless person always putting the needs of others first. She lived her life caring for others. She blessed her family with living her life as an example to follow. Survivors include her devoted children, Michael Picone and his wife Laura of Shelton, Lucie Picone Gribok and her husband John of Shelton and Anna Maria Picone Gardecki and her husband Paul of Derby. She loved and adored her six grandchildren, Christopher and Allison Gribok and Kyle, Lauren and Rebecca Picone and her newest granddaughter Amanda Gardecki. Her sisters, Rosa, Eva, Maria and her brother, Pellegrino, all of Italy, her most cherished sister-in-law, Rosa Lepore, several nieces and nephews especially, Carmine Lepore and his wife Lola, Connie Lepore and his wife Zoraida, Gina Nobili and her husband Dominic, Silvanna Ponzio and her husband Silvio, Valentino and John Vederame and many loving and caring friends and neighbors. She was pre-deceased by her infant twin sister. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Houtan Golzari, Dr. Jitrenda Bharucha and Dr. Edward Duda. Funeral Information
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations Information
