Obituary of Mary L. Piazza

Mary L. Piazza, age 88, of Monroe, died peacefully on Wednesday March 3, 2010 in her home. Born on January 5, 1922 in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Carmello and Maria Farina Piazza. She was a resident of California for 40 years before moving to Connecticut six years ago. She was a retired employee of Allison BMW of California and was also formerly employed by Hewlett Packard and Clairol. Survivors include her daughter, Sally A. DeChristopher of Monroe, two brothers Philip Piazza and his wife Gloria of Arizona and Charles Piazza of California, a sister, Angela Skene and her husband William of Michigan, two grandchildren Jacqueline Hamel and her husband Kevin and Paula Murphy and her husband T. J., four great grandchildren, Allyson, Benjamin, Patrick and Carly, sisters-in-law Joan Piazza of NJ and Gilda Piazza of Sicily as well as her dear friend Miriam Wellnitz of New York. She was pre-deceased by a son, Herbert Burnside and son-in-law Paul DeChristopher. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
