Obituary of Sante Gabriele

Sante Gabriele, age 73, of Trumbull, died on Monday, July 7, 2008 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Isola Liri, Province of Frosinone, Italy on March 30, 1935 to Gregorio and Loreta Gabriele. Sante immigrated to Bridgeport, CT with his daughter, Tommasina, in December, 1965 where they were reunited with wife, Carolina, and infant son, Anthony. Sante worked for 35 years at Bridgeport Machines, briefly as a painter, before being promoted to the position of group leader and then foreman. During the years of his retirement, he and his wife Carolina devoted themselves to their real estate properties in Bridgeport and in Isola Liri, Italy. They enjoyed vacationing in Italy and Cape Cod with their family. Sante also enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking the path at St. Marys by the Sea. He loved to spend time with his friends and family. Sante was known on both shores for his investment savvy and his wisdom, and for giving good advice to anyone who called on him. In addition to his beloved wife, Carolina of 46 years, he leaves behind his son, Anthony and daughter-in-law, Christine Gabriele, his daughter, Tommasina, and son-in- law, Ken Smith, four grandchildren, Enrica, Ivana, Evan and Tara in the U.S.; and in Italy he leaves his brothers, Donato and Alfredo, and sister Angela Paesani, as well as many other relatives. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Pilgrimage Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
