Local Attorney John Joseph Petrucelli, Sr., an attorney, age 74, died peacefully at St. Vincent Medical Center on Saturday, February 24, 2007. John was a resident of Trumbull for 40 years. He was the beloved son of the late John and Mary Lucia Petrucelli. John was born in Bridgeport on December 18, 1932. He was a 1950 graduate of Fairfield College Preparatory School and pursued his undergraduate degree at Fairfield University. John Received a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School in 1958. He was a member of the American, Connecticut and Bridgeport Bar Associations. He specialized in the general practice of law for 42 years and was highly respected by his peers for his integrity and commitment to professionalism. Johns love of literature and history as well as his fascination with cultures fostered his desire to be a philatelist and to travel the world. He was a member and current treasurer of the Bridgeport Philatelic Club. His deep faith in God inspired him to be an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. John was the current Grand Knight of the St. Stephen Council K of C, Trumbull, CT. John realized the importance of community service through his voluntary efforts as a past Trumbull Sewer Commissioner. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. John is survived by his loving and devoted family which includes his wife of 40 years, Joan Galluzzo Petrucelli, their two children, John Jr. and Jennifer and beloved grandchild, Amanda, daughter of Jennifer and Wayne Strolin. John is survived by his loving sister, Martha Modugno of Rochester, NY and brother-in-law, John C. Galluzzo, Esq., and his wife, Jean of Winchester, MA and several loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Susan Goncalves and her nursing staff on 7 South for providing superb and extraordinary care with love and compassion. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe.
