Obituary of Joseph T. Gabriel

Resident of Trumbull Joseph T. Gabriel, age 86, of Trumbull, a self-employed slip cover manufacturer, died on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on August 28, 1922, he was a son of the late Rocco and Raffaela Iacurci Gabriel. Joseph truly loved his nieces and nephews and treated them as if they were his own children. He enjoyed playing baseball and basketball and working in the yard. He was predeceased by a brother, Dominick Gabriel, two sisters, Dorothy Fasanella, Effie Hurst, two nephews, David Hurst and Richard Gabriel and two brothers-in-law Joseph Junz and and Orville Hurst. Survivors include two sisters, Faith Junz of Del Ray Beach, FL and Ruth Nucera and her husband Phil of Guilford, sister-in-law Mary Gabriel of Fairfield, brother-in-law, Jim Fasanella of Trumbull, nieces and nephews, Joanna and Randy Meeker of Trumbull, Frank and Trudy Fasanella of East Norwalk, James and Terri Fasanella of Milford, Richard and Beth Fasanella of Jupiter FL, Gary and Andrea Gabriel of Shrewsbury VT, Lisa and Fred Duncan of Guilford, Diana and Richard Lovaino of Seymour and Natalie Nucera of Westbrook, great nieces and nephews, Gretchen and Brian Mager, Randy Meeker Jr.and Joseph Meeker, Richard and Nick Fasanella, Kristen Fasanella, James Fasanella Jr., Kyle and Shana Fasanella, Cindy and Sherry Gabriel, Kendall, Amanda and Cole Duncan and Evan and Anthony Lavanio. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
