Obituary of Frank A. Peters

Frank A. Peters, 72, of Trumbull, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 5th from related effects of Parkinsons Disease. Son of the late Francis and Helen Peters, he was born January 21, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised in Smithtown, NY and resided in Trumbull for the past 46 years. As a 1957 graduate of Smithtown High School, Frank was a standout football athlete for which he was awarded Most Valuable Player for each year he played. In 2008, he was inducted into the Smithtown High School Booster Club Hall of Fame. After graduation, Frank was employed by the U.S. Coast Guard for five years. An extremely intelligent and self-made man, Frank enjoyed a successful 25-year career in financial operations at GE Credit Corp. and later at P.S.F.S. and Chemical Bank of New York. Frank was a great lover of the outdoors and an avid skier. Hardworking and always industrious, there was nothing that he could not build or fix; including a ski chalet he designed and constructed by his hands for his family. He was also an avid antique car enthusiast having restored several classic cars. His greatest joy in life however, was derived from time spent with his family. Frank is survived by his four cherished daughters; Denise Prior and her husband Jeff (Shelton, CT), Suzanne Barr and her husband Randy (Scarborough, ME), Rhonda Lathrop and her husband Steve (So. Londonderry, VT), and Jeannine Smith and her companion Terence (Park City, UT). He is also survived by his former wife and life-time friend, Margie Peters. By far, Franks greatest delight came from his beloved grandchildren; Danielle, Scott, Gregory, and Keith Prior; Sarah, Rachel, and Ryan Barr; Hunter, Brittany, Lara, Mikayla, and Chloe Lathrop; and Bailey, Sophia, and Sabrina Smith. Frank is also survived by three of his adored sisters Joan Czaplyski, June Ruizi, and Joyce Panciroli, all of Long Island, NY. He was predeceased by four sisters; Frances Karukstis, Helen Walkden, Mildred Cohan and Marion Mensching. In addition, Frank has numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved, especially Robin Janas, who resided with his family for many years and dear sisters-in-law and mother-in-law who were important to him.
