Obituary of Robert E. Pester

Resident of Clinton Robert E. Pester, age 90, of Clinton, formerly of Bridgeport, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at his residence. Born in Milford on October 22, 1918, he was a son of the late Edmund and Mary Milliken Pester. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the V.F.W. and the Holy Name Society. He was a retired distributor for Marvin Snow and Sons, and was formerly employed by the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and the Oronoque Country Club. He was a former lector at St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport and St. Marys Church, Clinton. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golfing, the New York Yankees and Tuesday pinochle with Sue and Dom. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who had a deep love and devotion for his family. He will be deeply missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rose Colandrea Pester, two daughters, Diane Chuka and her husband Peter of Trumbull and Judy Pester of Clinton, three grandchildren, Peter Chuka Jr. and his wife Wendy, Daniel Chuka and his wife Deanna and John Pester Constance, four great grandchildren, Daniella, Dominick, Hannah and John, a sister, Maxine Yarson of Milford as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter Bonnie and two sisters, Mary Moore and Jean Bevel. Funeral Information Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, 2539 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford.
