Obituary of Dan C. Bolin

Lifelong Resident of Trumbull Dan C. Bolin, age 63, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Carol Gruce Bolin, died on Monday, November 29, 2010 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on May 2, 1947, he was a son of the late Carlton Clifford and Elsie Ingeborg Carlson Bolin. A lifelong resident of Trumbull, Mr. Bolin was the owner and operator of Nutmeg Finance Corp. and had previously owned Bolins Auto in Bridgeport. He was an avid golfer and member of the Mill River Country Club and the Heritage Oaks Country Club. He played softball for the Rogers Corner, Stonybrook and Frog Pond teams. Dan loved W.C. Fields, boxers, baseball, golf, gambling and Dewars. He was a bright light in many lives and his energy, humor and storytelling will be missed. In addition to his wife of 23 years, survivors include four children, Daniel Mazza of Derby, Gregory Mazza of Orlando, FL, Jessica Bolin of Norwalk and William Mazza of Shelton, three sisters, Joan Apfel of Milford, Joyce Halkowitz and her husband Nick of Derby and Barbara DeNicola of London, England. He was pre-deceased by a brother Gary Wayne Bolin and his step-mother Dorothy Bolin. He also leaves behind a legion of friends. The family wishes to give April Webster a special thank you for all of her help. Funeral Information Memorial Services will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
