Obituary of Emily O'Neill

Emily R. O'Neill, age 91, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 30, 2005. Born in New York City on July 4, 1913, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Kolvek Hoza. She had been a long time resident of Flushing, NY, before moving to Mount Vernon, NY, in 1965, and then to Monroe in 1976. Prior to retiring in 1970, she was Manager of Sales Support for Eutectic Welding Alloys Corp. in Flushing, NY. Mrs. ONeill was a member of St. Theresa Seniors, and was a communicant of Christ the King Church.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Patrick Francis O'Neill, a New York City police officer and a brother, John Hoza.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Giamelle, of Monroe; a beloved daughter Lucille Raftery, and her husband Gene of Trumbull; three grandsons, Ken Raftery and his wife Laura of Monroe, John Raftery and his wife Stephanie of Chicago IL, and Bill Raftery and his wife Betsy of Wilton; great-grandchildren Kathleen and Alex Raftery of Monroe, and Charlie Raftery of Chicago, IL, as well as her devoted caregiver, Kathy Minns. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
