Obituary of Fernanda M. Freitas

Fernanda M. Freitas, age 74, of Bridgeport, a retired supervisor, died on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on April 20, 1934 in Sao Vicente, Madeira Island, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Margarida Andrade DeFreitas. She will be fondly remembered by many people as a devoted and caring friend.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Lionel A. Freitas, a brother Joao Freitas and a sister Cecilia DeFreitas.

Survivors include two devoted children, a son, Lee Freitas and his wife Linda of Pottstown, Pa., a daughter, Cecilia Begg and her husband Scott of Stratford, three brothers, Alberto DeFreitas of Venezuela, Antonio DeFreitas of Bridgeport and Jose Freitas of Madeira Island, Portugal, a sister, Angela Silva of Florida, three cherished grandchildren, Michael and Kimberly Begg and Matthew Freitas and many nieces and nephews as well as her special feline companions, Honey and Daisy. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
