Obituary of Robert W. O'Brien

Robert W. OBrien, age 88, of Orange City, FL, beloved husband of the late Louise Zacchia OBrien, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford, FL. Born in Stratford on March 12, 1924, he was a son of the late Charles Frederick Brien, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Gerlach Brien. Mr. OBrien was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Sgt. First Class before his retirement in 1966. He was an IT Specialist with the former Norden Systems of Norwalk, CT and also worked as a Payroll Courier with ADP of Milford, CT before moving to Florida. Survivors include brother, Ronald Brien of PA, sisters, Pearl Brien Thurkettle and Dianna Brien, both of CT, son, Bill Mealia of NC, daughters, Robyn Hayden of SC and Pat McLean of IL, Granddaughters, Jennifer Periera of NC, Karen Mealia Ospina of CT and Bonnie Dzialo Hill of NC, grandsons, Michael Mealia, Richard Dzialo and David Dzialo, all of CT, great grandson, Eddie Periera of NC, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Private Family Memorial Service celebrating his life will take place at a later time. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
